All of our DJs receive hundreds of CDs a month to consider for airplay. In this regular feature, KCRW DJ Chuck Pcatalogues his musical bounty from the Post Office each week.

This past week is a great example of why we live in SoCal. Absolutely gorgeous weather. I’ve also received some absolutely gorgeous 7″s this past week.

1) How To Fight / Zoo / Art Fag 7″s from All Saints Day, Dirty Beaches, Meho Plaza, Foot Village, Beaters & more .. nothing better than getting vinyl in the mail, as I may have mentioned before, but all these singles in just a weeks time? The dogs are smiling. One package even came with a home made TEAR HERE zip lock thing. Cool.

2) Fergus & Geronimo “Unlearn” .. been playing this one a while now, but it was nice for Hardly Art to send a hard copy. Possibly a best of ’11 contender. Yeah, that good.

3) Yuck … their self titled album from Fat Possum records. The ‘Possum has been doing some interesting stuff lately (ie, Tennis) so I’m interested to see what I have here. One of those heard about, but never heard, bands.

Honorable mentions include a couple of releases from Dead Oceans (John Vanderslice & Akron Family), new music from The Dears and a new CD from The Black Watch titled, Led Zeppelin Five… pretty hilarious.

Tune in for some of this goodness tonight @ 12a.

Cheers,

Chuck P.
