What I Got at the Post Office Today by Chuck P

Written by

All of our DJs receive hundreds of CDs a month to consider for airplay. In this regular feature, KCRW DJ Chuck P catalogues his musical bounty from the Post Office each week.

After a week of warm temps in the 80’s, it’s looking like winter again. A pretty decent haul on this grey day.

east river pipe

1) East River Pipe “We Live In Rented Rooms” – New album by FM Cornog! I played a track a couple of months ago, but I’m really excited to hear the rest of it.

count fleet

2) Count Fleet “self titled EP” – I’ve only heard one track from this new EP, but I bet the rest of it is as good. Here’s hoping!

Jad Fair

3) Jad Fair “Best Of…” – I’m a huge fan of Half Japanese and their 2xCD Greatest Hits compilation is pretty much all you need from them. This 3xCD collection spans his entire career, including some great collaborations with Daniel johnston and Nao.

Honorable mentions include new CD’s from Caroline and A Hawk & A Hacksaw, plus two books. University of Strangers by Bob Pfeifer and Niceness In The 90s by Jim Miller. New books are always welcome.

Listen to my show in the archives for tracks from these albums and more.

Cheers,

Chuck P.
