It’s been blazing summer the past couple of days. Very nice. It’s why we live here, right?

Found some very interesting releases in the ol’ PO-box today…

George Glass (looks like there is a Love cover here & I’m a sucker for Love); A Mexican Summer vinyl 3 pack including the latest from True Widow, Soldiers Of Fortune & Black Ryder (thanks!); & another gem from Third Man Records, a Reggie Watts 12″ EP. Color me giggly.

Metal Mountains “Golden Trees” = “From the ruins of Tower Recordings… Metal Mountains has risen!” I used to love Tower Recordings, so I’m very interested to hear this. On the always excellent Amish Records.

3) Man Man “Life Fantastic” = First new album in 3 years from these cats. I wonder if their circus-y sound is still intact? Looks like they have a song on here called “Oh, La Brea!” Oh wait… looks like it’s flagged for FCC badness. I’m sure there will be plenty more to choose from.

Honorable mentions include new cd’s from The Globes (who are playing in LA soon), The Antlers & digital promos of the two new albums by aTelecine. aTelecine is the project of porn star Sasha Grey. It says here she’s influenced by Throbbing Gristle, KMFDM, Nurse With Wound & Coil. Damn. Should be interesting.

Listen for some of these and so much more tonight at 12a.

Cheers,

Chuck P.
