What music motivates Jillian Michaels’ workouts?

blog-spacerWithin seconds of meeting fitness guru Jillian Michaels, she yelled at me.

This will come as no surprise to followers of the famed trainer, who is best known from her work on the reality show “The Biggest Loser.” On the show, she couples her fitness expertise with tough love, which has earned  her a lot of  fans – and haters – in the process.

It’s fair to mention I deserved to be yelled at – my parking directions for arriving at the station had been sub-par, but she definitely delivered the (jokingly) harsh words with a smile. She is extremely self-aware, something we also discovered in her song picks.

During her Guest DJ Project set, we learned she uses music not only as motivation but also as a coping mechanism for tough days.

She embraces a couple “cheesy pop” songs for their inspirational messages – U2’s “Beautiful Day” and “Live Your Life” by T.I. and Rihanna (which she dedicated to her haters).
