The Shrine Expo Hall in Los Angeles is the venue for the Hard Haunted Mansion event on Halloween with music from Justice, Soulwax, Simian Mobile Disco and Crystal Castles & DJIng by KCRW’s own Jason Bentley.

The 11th Monster Massive claims to be Americas largest Halloween dance music festival and the LA Sports Arena will be transformed into one huge haunted house with  rooms called Witches Woods and Tomb of Doom. Some of the DJs that’ll be keeping the spooks on the dance floor all night include Pete Tong, Judge Jules, , James Lavelle and Felix Da Housecat.

The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel held the first Academy Awards in 1929 and some say it’s haunted by the ghosts of Marilyn Monroe and Montgomery Clift so it’s the perfect location for a Halloween bash -  this year it’s hosted by none other than Marilyn Manson.  Presented by KCRW the evening will be DJ’d by MixMaster Mike of the Beastie Boys,  Andy Caldwell and Todd Omotani amongst others.

Now over to Hawaii for the inaugural Hallowbaloo festival taking place in the historic Honolulu Arts District and featuring  six stages of entertainment. The extensive music line up includes Maceo Parker, Mad Professor , local group Ooklah the Moc, The Helio Sequence – as well as KCRW fave Brett Dennen who’ll be performing his first ever show in Hawaii.

Last on the list of Halloween related events is Voodoo Experience in New Orleans. Taking place over the weekend of October 24h artists include Devotchka. TV on the Radio and  Eryka Badu and each night is closed out by the Extra Action Marching Band.

A quick  mention of Neil Young’s annual fund raiser for The Bridge School on October 25 and 26th– as always it’s a great list of performers –  Wilco , Jack Johnson, Cat Power , ZZ Top and ofcourse, Neil Young.
