English indie-electro band Metronomy have a knack for creating distinctive sounds and styles. Whether in the rudimentary bedroom electronica of 2006’s Pip Paine (Pay the £5000 You Owe) or the in Motown genuflections of 2014’s Love Letters, Metronomy always finds a way to generate albums with a unique sound.
The band’s sixth studio album, Metronomy Forever, is no different. Glide through disparate genres including yacht rock, house, jazzy funk and 80s disco flash as you travel seamlessly from track to track. As a whole, Metronomy Forever leaves room for experimentation and surprise while staying a pure and solid mood-brightener.
We are thrilled to welcome Metronomy back to KCRW for an exclusive guest mix on Metropolis ahead of their LA show at The Fonda on Saturday, February 22nd.
