At just 24 but definitely an old soul, LA singer-songwriter and poet Jensen McRae shares life through her eyes with an intimate Live from Anne’s Backyard performance and a candid conversation with Novena Carmel spanning race, writing, identity, and success.

Plus, we share a big announcement from our friends at The LA Phil, who just announced The Ford’s 2022 season return with 19 weeks of performance between June 12 and Oct. 23. The lineup features Latinx artists in performances ranging from boleros and baile folklorico to drag, and a spectrum of jazz artists from the well-established to the emerging.

Plus some well-known headliners you've certainly heard played on KCRW, including: Kamasi Washington, Best Coast, Warpaint, Jose Gonzalez, Ibeyi, and Silvana Estrada — to name just a few. To kick it all off, the LA Phil will celebrate the beginning of the season with a FREE “101 Festival” hosted by MBE’s very own Novena Carmel June 11-12. More info here.
