Welcome to the Morning Becomes Eclectic podcast. We’ve had some incredible artists come through the KCRW studios recently and we’re making our way through all the sessions to find the highlights and share them with you as a free download.
We’ll start off with all new songs from the tUnE-yArDs latest release, Nikki-Nack. Merrill Garbus saw a ton of success after her sophomore album and she continued on that momentum in 2014. We’ve pulled a few from her recent KCRW performance.
Next you’ll find a few from Sweden’s own Lykke Li. On this particular visit she performed mostly new songs off of her third studio album, I Never Learn. The immediate focus on her vocals really sets this album apart, and it certainly stood out during her session.
Finishing things off for us will be U.K. post-punk outfit Maximo Park. Lead singer Paul Smith carefully crafts a unique aesthetic with his songwriting and the sound is both refreshing and nostalgic. They played a bunch of new songs of their latest release, Too Much Information, and we’ve selected a few highlights.
