“Mundo Nuevo'' is the first song in a series of singles leading up to the release of Alex Cuba’s eighth studio album. Written in a son jarocho style, Cuba enlists the deep sound of Mexican singer Lila Downs, whose voice recalls nueva canción singers Violetta Parra or Mercedes Sosa.
