The State of the State: Governor Schwarzenegger Says 'Build It'

Hosted by
Governor Schwarzenegger moves on from defeat in last year's special election to propose an increased minimum wage, more spending for education and a massive bond measure to rebuild infrastructure and keep alive the California dream. Schwarzenegger's State of the State speech tonight was short on controversy and long on references to the California Dream. To the Legislature's Democratic majority--last year's "girly men"--he issued a plea for cooperation and proposed what he called "a strategic growth plan" for building roads, public schools, ports and levees. We hear excerpts from the speech and the response of Democrats who control the Legislature.
