Frank McCourt surrendered ownership of the team, and Guggenheim Baseball, led by Magic Johnson and incoming Dodgers President Stan Kasten, put down the final payment on the record $2.15 billion to control the historic franchise. They’re now the third owner since the O’Malleys sold the team in 1998. The new ownership team has scheduled a news conference for tomorrow morning.
