Connecting LA to LAX by train

I made yet another trip to LAX last night to pick up a friend of mine coming back from an international vacation

The Tom Bradley International Terminal, by the way, looks really nice after a more than billion-dollar face lift.

But I could not help but wonder why there’s no easy public transportation into or out of LAX, one of the world’s busiest airports. A train that connects with the rest of the city’s Metro lines.

While the Green Line, the one that runs in the center of the 105 Freeway, comes closest, it still comes well short of LAX – by about 2.5 miles. And, as the LA Times reports, the $2.06 billion north-south Crenshaw line will apparently also come short.

Kevin Roderick from LA Observed joined me to talk about it.
