Trump was once a controversial fringe candidate who challenged the Republican Party’s norms and traditions, and was criticized by many of his fellow Republicans. Now he’s consolidated his power over the GOP -- after the GOP gained more seats in the Senate. The Republicans who challenged him -- Jeff Flake, Jeb Bush, Bob Corker -- are gone from the Senate.
