LA has the busiest court system in the US. How is coronavirus affecting cases?

As California nears 2,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19, the court system hasn’t been spared from the fallout. In LA, court trials have been postponed for at least a month. The courts are still open for some proceedings though, like arraignments and some initial hearings in criminal cases.

Also, the Department of Justice is seeking new emergency powers in light of the pandemic.
