Despite legal ban, gay conversion therapy still happens in California
Yesterday the Supreme Court upheld a California law that bans gay conversion therapy. That law has been in place since 2012 and was the first of its kind in the country. It bans licensed therapists, doctors, and social workers from using conversion techniques on children.

That law has been in place since 2012 and was the first of its kind in the country. It bans licensed therapists, doctors, and social workers from using conversion techniques on children. But it doesn’t restrict religious leaders and religious groups from continuing the practice, which does still happen in California behind closed doors.
