KCRW DJs preview music at SXSW

Hosted by  •

SXSW started as a music festival 32 years ago. KCRW DJs Anne Litt and Jose Galvan are part of our crew there this year. They tell us about some artists who will be playing.

Yola is an emerging British voice who combines country and soul.

The Ophelias are a quartet out of Cincinnati, OH, who blend pop melodies of understated rock.

Tamino, born and raised in Antwerp, Belgium, was named for the hero in Mozart's “The Magic Flute,” who received a flute that turned turn sorrow into joy.

Combo Chimbita is a music collective of Colombian immigrants based in New York.

Westerman, based in London, didn’t pick up the guitar until he was 16, and studied and performed choral music before that.

Elderbrook (aka Alexander Kotz), from Britain, delivers upbeat synth-forward dance music.

Crumb is a Brooklyn-based group with indie, pop, and jazz leanings.
