Replacing John Boehner, GOP Roundup, and The Black Panthers

John Boehner resigned from Congress this morning. Now, a California Republican, Congressman Kevin McCarthy, is considered the leading candidate to replace Boehner as Speaker of the House. That’s despite the fact that he’s only been a member of Congress for nine years.

And it’s been a big week for the Republican party in general. Last night Jeb Bush made a gaffe about African-American voters. On Monday Scott Walker left the presidential race, bashing Donald Trump on his way out. And Carly Fiorina has upped her opposition to Planned Parenthood.

Next, a new documentary looks at the rise and fall of the Black Panthers.

Finally we discuss this weekend's movie releases, including a torture film from Eli Roth, a warm and fuzzy feel-good from Nancy Meyers, and a gay rights period piece.
