New exhibit and podcast asks what’s worthy of collecting

A new exhibition at the Los Angeles Central Library called “21 Collections: Every Object Has a Story” showcases unusual collections by artists, ordinary people, and one celebrity -- Tom Hanks. There are items like paper airplanes, envelope linings, and gay bar matchbooks. Producers Davia Nelson and Nikki Silva, known as The Kitchen Sisters, toured the exhibition for their new series “The Keepers.” It’s part of their podcast “The Kitchen Sisters Present.”
