Opening her candidacy for the US Senate, Orange County Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez may have tripped over an ill-timed joke with ethnic stereotypes -- including a war whoop. We hear how it sounded and how it's playing in parts of the state where Sanchez is not yet well known.

Also, there's a lot at stake in tomorrow's run-off election for an LA City Council seat that sprawls from Hancock Park through Silver Lake and over the Hollywood hills to Sherman Oaks. A long-time City Hall insider faces a challenger who wants to be known as Mr. Outside.
