Which Way, L.A.?

Animal Cruelty, the Cost of Food and Next Month’s Ballot

Illegal in California, many claim that animal cruelty is practiced anyway by the veal, pork and egg industries. Prop 2 would provide that animals raised for food be housed in more humane circumstances. Also, the conditions leading to deadly fires and nightmarish traffic.

    Cruelty to animals is illegal in California, but proponents of Proposition 2 claim it is practiced anyway by the veal, pork and egg industries. Prop 2 would provide that calves, pigs and chickens be housed in cages that allow them to lie down, stand up, fully extend their limbs and turn around. We hear both sides and look at the conditions leading to deadly fires and nightmarish traffic.
