On Monday, May 31st from 1 to 2 pm (rebroadcast at 7 pm), KCRW (89.9 FM) will air a special program to mark the Memorial Day holiday: "HARDSHIP INTO HOPE - THE REWARDS OF CAREGIVING." This hour-long exploration of providing care, a role an estimated 25 million Americans are currently fulfilling, features the personal stories of former First Lady Rosalynn Carter; Dana Reeve, the wife and caregiver of actor Christopher Reeve, who suffered paralyzing spinal cord injuries; and Ram Dass, spiritual leader and inspiration for millions whose recent stroke reversed his role of caregiver to care recipient.
