When a man complained that a coyote had nipped at his foot in LA's Griffith Park, officials killed eight coyotes, one of which might have been the original nipper. As development spreads into what once were the wilds, coyotes have been remarkably successful at adapting to the urban environment. Now the official killing of eight coyotes in Griffith Park has raised issues about co-existence with human beings. Also, Los Angeles' continuing struggle with dispensaries of medical marijuana.
