Drive-by Graphics and Freedom of Speech

Hosted by
Inflatable dinosaurs, Santa Clauses and King Kings are familiar to every Los Angeles driver. Are they monuments to the capital of car culture - or awful examples of "visual blight?" What about those building-size super-graphics showing up all over town? Are they public art - or public nuisances? As it meets - virtually in the shadow of the Hollywood sign - the LA City Council is hearing from both sides of an increasingly heated debate between prohibition and preservation.
