Hahn and Villaraigosa to Face Off in May Runoff

Hosted by
Mayor Jim Hahn came in second to Councilman Antonio Villaraigosa yesterday, just as he did in the last mayoral primary four years ago, but both candidates say this year-s runoff will be more than a replay. The Los Angeles Times' poll shows they-re right, with support for each coming from different people in different places. Villaraigosa got 33% of yesterday-s vote, and Hahn was nine points behind with 24%. Just two points out of the running with 22%, Bob Hertzberg conceded defeat this morning. We recap last night's results and look at the bruising 10-week runoff campaign which began this morning with Bob Hertzberg, Susan Pinkus of the LA Times pollster, Fernando Guerra of the Center of the Study of Los Angeles at Loyola Marymount University, and political commentator Kerman Maddox.
