LA City Council Raises Minimum Wage

With just one member dissenting today, the City Council voted to increase LA's minimum wage -- in stages -- to $15 an hour by 2020. It's part of a major sea change in local politics, with business pushed toward the back of the bus — by a victory for organized labor that may be a preview of things to come.

With just one member dissenting today, the City Council voted to increase LA's minimum wage -- in stages -- to $15 an hour by 2020. It's part of a major sea change in local politics, with business pushed toward the back of the bus — by a victory for organized labor that may be a preview of things to come.

Also, water conservation is good politics but bad economics. So many people have torn out their lawns that there's no money left to pay for more rebates.
