More Racial Violence in LA County Jails

Some 2000 County Jail inmates went on a four-hour rampage Saturday afternoon, leaving one prisoner dead and 50 injured. The Sheriff says the incident at the 16 year-old "state of the art" North County Correctional Facility in Castaic was carefully planned by Latinos in response to an assault by black inmates at the Men's Central Jail downtown. Today, after a third night of racial unrest, inmates are now being segregated according race, despite a ban on the practice by the US Supreme Court.
