Lucy Tompkins, MD: Professor in the division of infectious diseases, and in the department of microbiology and immunology at Stanford University Medical Center. Dr. Tompkins is also Stanford-s epidemiology director and clinical head of infectious disease services for Stanford hospital. She chaired this year-s meeting of the Infectious Diseases Society of America which wrapped up in San Francisco earlier today.
