Arnold Schwarzenegger will be sworn in on November 17. He plans to call a special legislative session the next day to deal with the budget, workers- comp and repealing approval for driver's licenses for undocumented workers. Today, the Governor-elect continued to fill out his staff, with four new appointments. Most conspicuous was Senior Advisor Bonnie Reiss, a Democrat and an environmentalist. That selection brought warnings of a "possible embarrassment" from the conservative California Political Review. George Bush today made his tenth visit to California as President, this time to survey the fire damage. Governor Davis and Governor-elect Arnold Schwarzenegger accompanied Bush on the Presidential helicopter, Marine One. Erik Alexander reported the story for public radio station KPBS in San Diego.
