Gary Indiana: I Can Give You Anything but Love

The outlandish and unguarded Gary Indiana has written what can be described as an "anti-memoir." He doesn't like memoirs but has written one himself, partly because he has lived a real life all over the world: he actually has something to write about.

The outlandish and unguarded Gary Indiana has written what can be described as an "anti-memoir." He doesn't like memoirs but has written one himself, partly because he has lived a real life all over the world: he actually has something to write about. His latest book, I Can Give You Anything but Love (Rizzoli Ex Libris) begins in Cuba where he has lived happily "off the grid" for five months a year for 17 years. He discusses the joy of its culture where young and old, gay and straight, male and female – and all genders in-between – mix freely. He relishes being an intellectual who delights himself and others by telling the truth.
