    Three writers traveled from Tulsa to Manhattan and became the leaders of the second generation of the New York School of Poetry. Ron Padgett tells their story in You Never Know (Coffee House). The death of his two friends, Ted Berrigan and Joe Brainard, has allowed Padgett to bring new emotional depth to poetry that many have considered clever, brainy and impersonal.
