Sixties Soul pioneer Solomon Burke will drop by KCRW for a spin on The Open Road as Guest DJ with Gary Calamar on Sunday October 20. His version of gospel and country tinged R&B influenced many British Invasion bands including the Rolling Stones, with whom Burke will perform at their upcoming Wiltern Theater concert. Solomon's latest album has returned him to national prominence and includes new songs written by Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello, and Tom Waits.
Join us on Sunday, October 20th at 10pm for a conversation with Solomon Burke and to hear some of his favorite tunes from the past 40 years.
