Jonathan Gold reviews Le Comptoir, chef Gary Menes' pop up restaurant in Fred Eric's Tiara Cafe in Downtown LA. The set menu is $46 and wine pairings adds an additional $24 to the bill for six pairings. The signature dish is the fried egg and greens which are cooked right in front of you on a hot skillet. He also enjoys chicken cooked in whey and Menes' house made cheese and sourdough bread.
