A Sucker For A New Product

My mother is a sucker for new products. All that money that food manufacturers put into marketing and packaging, pays off with someone like my mother. Tuna in a bag instead of a can? She’ll buy it, announcing triumphantly “new product!” She visiting this week from the East Coast and last night we stopped at Albertson’s to pick up some beer and… a new product that she had to have: “Recipe Inspirations from McCormick.” Basically it’s pre-portioned spices for a specific recipe – she bought Rosemary Roasted Chicken and Apple and Sage Pork Chops. McCormick has been selling salt, pepper, rosemary and sage for years, but it all seems new again…
