Today on Good Food Pomologist David Karp discusses the rise and fall of the Gravenstein – a short season apple that is grown predominantly in Sebastapol, California. If you aren’t headed to Northern California this August, Barbara Windrose at Windrose Farms will also have a small crop of Southern California Gravensteins at the Wednesday Santa Monica Farmers Market.

The Gravenstein will also be the focus of David’s upcoming article in the LA Times Food Section – look out for it on August 11th.
