Remember Schweddy Balls? The classic SNL skit was written by Ana Gasteyer and featured Molly Shannon and Alec Baldwin. AND in case you didn’t know, Gasteyer used Good Food as inspiration for the Delicious Dish – her NPR parody. The piece first aired on Saturday Night Live in 1998 – the same year Evan began hosting Good Food. (Although the skit was developed by Gasteyer when Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken were hosts of Good Food…hence the host’s name “Margaret Joe.”)

Starting last year Ben & Jerry’s introduced a limited edition Schweddy Balls flavor featuring “Fair Trade vanilla ice cream with a hint of rum…loaded with fudge covered rum and milk chocolate malt balls.” Not everyone was so thrilled about the flavor, but I for one am pretty excited to try Schweddy Balls after hearing about them for so long.
