This weekend on the Market Report Laura Avery interviews Christine Brown, daughter of Anthony Brown who owns Rincon del Mar Ranch near Carpinteria. The Browns will sell their fruit at the Wednesday Santa Monica Farmers Market for the next few months. Look for their stand on the South side of Arizona Avenue west of 2nd Street.

You can learn all about the ranch and the four varieties of cherimoya that Farmer Brown grows in David Karp’s LA Times article. Meanwhile, check out some of the beautiful photos that Karp took on a recent visit to the farm. Christine suggests peeling and slicing the fruit and adding a squeeze of tangerine juice before eating. Just beware of the large black seeds which are toxic.
