Register for the New School of Cooking’s Pie Demo with David LeFevre and Evan Kleiman

Looking to sweep all seven categories of this year’s 6th Annual Good Food Pie Contest? Previous winners stress the old adage of practice makes perfect. Don’t just bake – bake a lot – in preparation for the showdown to be held at the Fowler Museum at UCLA on Sunday, October 5th.

Here to help get you started is New School of Cooking in Culver City. On Thursday, September 25, David LeFevre of MB Post and Fishing with Dynamite will demo a New England Clam Chowder Pie and Good Food’s Evan Kleiman will demo her Quick and Easy savory pie filled with jam and cheese. She says:

“Have too much jam? Pair it with a little bit of cheese to make the easiest savory pie you can imagine. It’s like a cheese plate…in a pie.”

Both Evan and David will be offering pointers and advice on exactly what those judges want in the winning pies. There will be wine pairings and Coolhaus ice cream sandwiches for dessert. Plus, students will leave with a packet of recipes and pie know-how. What’s not to love?!
