Where to Eat This Weekend in Los Angeles: Black Hogg

This week on the show Jonathan Gold reviews Black Hogg in Silver Lake. The restaurant’s name is actually a reference to a type of sheep, but there is plenty of pork on the menu. The dish that people are talking about most is their “popcorn bacon” and while he enjoyed it, Jonathan muses that perhaps this is the dish where bacon has finally jumped the shark. Among Jonathan’s other favorites were fried olives, the lamb burger, oysters with a pickle juice mignonette, brussels sprouts, sauteed mushrooms and the chai spiced churros for dessert.
