Food Forward, the organization that collects excess fruits and vegetables around Southern California and donates them to the hungry, is having its third annual Spring Melt fundraiser on Saturday, April 27 from 7-11 p.m at Greenbar Distillery south of the Arts District downtown. The party will feature grilled cheese and other goodies from Clementine, citrus-inspired cocktails, a DJ and an auction. Tickets are $95 each.

Or a pair of them are free, if you win this giveaway.

Comment below with your funniest story about fruit. Did your spouse propose to you with a ring inside a watermelon? Have you actually slipped on a banana peel?

You have until noon tomorrow (Friday, April 19) to make us laugh. We’ll announce the winner by posting a comment reply directly to the winner’s comment. So keep your eyes peeled. (Citrus pun, anyone?)
