It’s been nearly a decade since any Southern California restaurants could boast of a Michelin star. The tire company’s publication, which started as a guide for roadside travelers and is now the world’s most prestigious arbiter of fine dining, pulled out of LA during the financial crisis, but now it’s back thanks to some major cash from the state’s Visit California Bureau. And last night, at a ceremony in Huntington Beach, a passel of the coveted Michelin stars were doled out to local restaurants.
