Fanatic! Tonight, we say happy birthday to one Dave Vanian. What a great excuse to listen to a lot of Damned music in October! That is what we’ll be doing in our first hour.

In our second, we will mix it up a bit. I was talking with Lemmy a few days ago and asked him about the time he was playing in the Damned, when they were calling themselves the Doomed. This was I think post Brian James and pre-Algy. On one LP bootleg I have has them playing Silver Machine by Hawkwind! I said I thought that was one of the most punk rock moments in Punk Rock. He said they didn’t play the song very well. At least they went for it.

I have been writing a lot of stuff for the next Fanatic! book. I have been writing a lot about TV Smith of the Adverts. Yesterday, I got a package from him, his new tour journal book as well as his new album called I Delete. It’s really good. Here’s how to find TV on the internet:

http://www.tvsmith.com/

I like that TV never relents. He’s always out there, playing, writing, doing the work. Looking forward to seeing him and Gaye as soon as possible. We will get the title track of TV’s new one into the mix in a couple of weeks.

For now, check out this cool our of Damned music at the front of the show and all the great jams that follow in the second hour.

Next week, get ready for a lot of cool vinyl flipped to CDR for a show that might have some songs that are new to you.

Wherever you are, say happy birthday to the one and only Dave Vanian and STAY FANATIC!!!
