Fanatic. I hope your September has been grand thus far. I started my September listening with Scary Monsters by David Bowie and Pink Flag by Wire.

This is pretty cool. There’s yet another release by the duo of Mark Robinson and Trevor Kampmann, otherwise known as Uncomfortable Police. This time around, it’s a 7” called Hazmat Kat. There was only 100 pressed. Here’s the information.

Bruce Loose, vocalist for the legendary San Francisco area band Flipper has passed away. Luckily, I got to see them play many times. Every performance, in its own way, was kind of amazing. Quite often, Flipper would be in the opening slot, going on before an audience who had a fair idea of the band’s predictable unpredictability. No matter what happened, like the night they played The Wheel for the entirety of their set, or when they brought on a horn player who didn’t know how to play, it was always memorable. Flipper were easily one of the most, if not the most uncompromising band I can think of. A good record to check out Flipper by is Sex Bomb Baby.

We’ve started our first show for September with the Mira and Ginger track Oh! September quite a few times. I think it’s the perfect track to roll into the autumn season.

May I make a book suggestion? If you are a fan of The Fall, this is a great read: You Must Get Them All: The Fall On Record by Steve Pringle. I believe I’ve recommended it to you before, but I’ve been rereading it and the sheer amount of information is incredible.

You might know that Larry Hardy, owner and operator of In The Red Records, and I occasionally find rare or unreleased music and put it on vinyl. So far, we’ve done this with the Ruts, Pure Hell, The Gun Club, Ruts DC, Alan Vega, the Panik, and most recently, the Adverts. I wanted to let you know that we just approved the mastering on a new record and we go to press very soon. This one is going to be really cool. When we get the vinyl back, I’ll let you know.

Tonight’s show will hopefully usher in Fanatic Autumn 2025 and augment your weekend listening. I’ve got a few new records to check out, but I’m fighting the urge to listen to Perverted By Language by The Fall and Another Music In A Different Kitchen by Buzzcocks.

Have a great night of listening, thank you so much for tuning in, and until next week, stay Fanatic.
