    Australia is dealing with the worst wildfires in its history. The blazes have scorched millions of acres and destroyed more than a thousand homes. But along with the devastating toll on people and the nation’s economy, the fires are wiping out some of the most sensitive animal habitats in the world and killing endangered and endemic species.
