Black community leaders are demanding a US Justice Department investigation into the shooting death over the weekend of 28-year old Nicholas Robertson by LA County Sheriff's Deputies. They’re comparing Robertson’s death in Lynwood to the fatal shooting of Laquan McDonald in Chicago last year. A released surveillance video shows a gun-toting man walking up and down a street before a confrontation. Two deputies fired 33 shots at Robertson. Meanwhile, the department is asking for any other video that witnesses may have in the clash between law enforcement and Robertson. It’s another controversy in a department that’s faced a lot of outside scrutiny lately.
