Francois K (Wave Music, Body & Soul, NYC)

Francois K needs no introduction to the dance music world. By the mid 1970s he had been experimenting with studio editing and mixing which led to a series of disco medleys and re-edits. This ultimately led to him remixing and/or editing some of the mose influential dance music songs to date, including D Train's Keep On, Kraftwerk's Tour de France, and Situation by Yazoo. Francois K has production credits with U2, Ashford and Simpson, Mick Jagger, Diana Ross, Atmosfear, Moloko and Finley Quaye to name a few. Today, he runs Wave Music, a fully independent record label with the vision of turning our lasting music with substance as well as style.

Francois K started as a DJ in the late 70s, spinning at legendary clubs such as Studio 54, Better Days, The Loft, Zanzibar, and Paradise Garage, filling in for resident and legend Larry Levan. Today, one can hear him at New York's Sunday afternoon party, Body & Soul. Francois, along with Joe Claussell and Danny Krivit, spin a soulful mix of house, classics, techno, and drum&bass.
