    Jason Bentley's Metropolis

From Electrospective: Steve Angello of Swedish House Mafia

    Hand-Picked MusicDanceEDM

Swedish House Mafia burst on the scene with a string of hit records, quickly becoming synonymous with the EDM explosion in America in recent years. While selling out arenas and headlining festivals has become commonplace in their fairytale success story, the streak to the top of the charts belies a friendship between Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Axwell that goes back many years. Steve Angello sat down with KCRW Music Director Jason Bentley for this week's edition of Electrospective, a documentary on the history of Electronic music through conversations with some of the most influential figures in the scene today. Steve talks about his fondest memories coming up in the club scene with SHM, describes the defining moment when he knew he has found his calling at a Producer, and the state of EDM today. Electrospective is Produced by EMI Music in association with KCRW. Select "listen" below for a stream of a music mix leading up to the conversation with Steve, or choose "download" to podcast the interview-only version of Electrospective.  For more information, go to www.electrospective.com and check out the Metropolis homepage, www.kcrw.com/metropolis
