    Sep 6, 2013

Jon Hopkins first caught my attention with the sublime track "Light Through The Veins" and the subsequent album Insides in 2009. Striking a thoughtful balance between melodic and avant-garde composition, Jon's sound seemed to evolve on it's own terms, not subject to the trends of mainstream electronic dance music. That spirit caught the attention of Brian Eno, and Jon found himself jamming with Coldplay, lending ideas to Eno's solo works including the score to Peter Jackson's film The Lovely Bones. Jon Hopkins joined KCRW Music Director Jason Bentley to discuss his latest projects, his solo album Immunity, and his score for the new Kevin Macdonald film (The Last King of Scotland, Marley) How I Live Now for KCRW.
