Mild Minds is the brainchild of Melbourne’s Benjamin David. Since breaking into his own late in 2018, he has been regarded as one of Australia's most celebrated electronic musicians.
SWIM, Mild Minds introduced us to his lo-fi, house-leaning sound, washed over with colorful synth melodies. After signing to ODESZA's label Foreign Family Collective, Ninja Tune's Counter Records in Europe, and Inertia Music in Australia and New Zealand; he joined the likes of Bicep, Bonobo, Maribou State, and RÜFÜS DU SOL.
Late 2019 saw the release of the hit single and KCRW favorite, “Movements”, and shortly after, a 2020 Grammy nomination for ford.’s remix of his debut single, “SWIM”.
Next on the Horizon is “WALLS”, a powerful half political and half personal track that blends elements of UK Garage and ambient electronica into warm vocals from featured artist Boats.
It’s the final single released from Mild Minds’ anticipated debut album MOOD, where he marries an array of different genres and styles. MOOD is out to the world on March 13th.
We are thrilled to welcome Mild Minds to KCRW for an exclusive guest mix on Metropolis. Catch him performing live with Tycho on Monday, February 5th at The Wiltern.
