One of the unsung heroes of British house music, but by no means an underachiever, Phil Asher has been on the international DJing circuit for more than a decade. A respected producer as well as DJ, Phil has completed over 75 of his own productions, as well as innumerable remixes, all of which have received high critical acclaim. He is a key player in the "West London scene," a new underground broken-beat musical genre. Along with Luke McCarthy, Phil is the founding member of the Restless Soul Productions team, which also incorporates Modaji (Laws of Motion Records), Taxi Driver (Estereo Records) and Roy Marsh. He also produces under various aliases, which include Basic Soul, Electric Soul, Phoojun, and 12-bit Rephugees. saxophonist Nathan Haines, which will be released on Chillifunk Records in early 2001. Phil Asher is Jason Bentley's guest on Metropolis, Friday, January 5th in the 9 o'clock hour. (http://www.djindex.com/philasher/phas_main.html)
