Based here in Los Angeles via Sydney, producer Danny Chien, a.k.a Wax Motif plays a major part in our vivacious local electronic landscape as one of the west coast’s scene’s brightest power players.
Notably, he’s been dubbed a leading tastemaker of G-house, a breakout fusion of dark, emotive deep house and hard-hitting hip-hop and bass-lines. With releases on record labels like Mixmash, Mad Decent and Dim Mak; Wax continues to innovate in the electronic music scene.
He’s delivered a killer exclusive guest mix for Metropolis ahead of his set at the highly anticipated debut of the All My Friends festival, hitting The Row at DTLA August 18th and 19th. This brand new, two-day music festival features a diverse lineup of electronic, rap, and pop artists. Get your tickets to All My Friends at www.amfdtla.com.

Tyler "Boogie" Boudreaux
Part wax, part digital, pure heat. Tyler “Boogie” Boudreaux channels KCRW’s eclectic sound through a kaleidoscope of psych, garage rock, soul, funk, and indie sounds. Vintage records collide with new releases, while house, indie dance, post-punk, trip-hop, darkwave, and unexpected detours keep the boundaries loose. The common thread is energy, groove, and discovery, with one hand in the crates and the other firmly planted in what’s happening now. Tune in to Tyler’s show Thursday nights from 8 to 10pm.
Must Listen
Must Listen is KCRW’s weekly music discovery series, inviting artists and cultural tastemakers to choose one essential album from KCRW’s music library, and explain why it matters to them.
